Big Bang leaves KL seeing stars

KUALA LUMPUR: South Korean group Big Bang lived up to their “galaxy” billing with a futuristic show that rocked Stadium Merdeka amid the deafening screams of the fans.

The five boys, clad in military-styled outfits, greeted their fans in English before strutting out of their space capsules to perform Tonight and Hands Up.

This was the first time Big Bang acknowledged as one of the biggest Asian acts in the world performed in Malaysia.

Tickets were snapped up as soon as they went on sale.

The one-night concert with a production cost of over RM4mil was sponsored by Samsung Galaxy and presented by YG Entertainment and Live Nation Entertainment, and organised by Running Into The Sun with official partner PMP.

Some fans had camped outside the stadium since Thursday to ensure that they could get as close as they could to their beloved K-pop idols.

And they were not disappointed by the “fan service” they received.

For two-and-a-half hours, Big Bang thrilled fans with their explosive performance of almost 30 songs, including solo performances, some beat-boxing and even bicycle manoeuvres.

By the time the group performed their greatest hits Haru Haru, Lies and Last Farewell, one can only say “Wow, Fantastic Baby.”
